JOBS AT CAMP MCCULLOUGH

Working at Camp McCullough isn’t just a job, it’s an opportunity to grow in your faith and be a part of an incredible team. Whether you’re leading games in front of hundreds of kids or serving behind the scenes, we know Jesus works in incredible ways while on team!

 

  • COUNSELOR

    We are looking for an enthusiastic, attentive camp counselor to lead, support, and motivate campers as they enjoy all Camp McCullough has to offer during a week at camp. Camp counselors will help coordinate activities and lead group events, monitor campers and respond to incidents, such as behavioral problems or accidents, lead campers spiritually, and discuss camper participation and concerns with leadership and other camp staff members. Counselors should be positive, proactive, and caring while focusing on giving campers a fun and safe camp experience.

  • LIFEGUARD

    Lifeguarding staff ensure the safety and well-being of campers and staff while swimming and boating. They are also responsible to model a genuine lifestyle of Christian discipleship, providing campers/guests with an experience that aligns with the mission, vision, and values of Camp McCullough.

    Applicants must be 16 years old and have a current Lifeguard certificate.

    MAINTENANCE

    Maintenance staff are responsible for cleaning areas around the property (bathrooms, cabins, lodge, etc.) and preparing events/activities for campers. They are also responsible to model a genuine lifestyle of Christian discipleship, providing campers/guests with an experience that aligns with the mission, vision, and values of Camp McCullough.

    KITCHEN

    Kitchen staff will clean dishes, equipment, and the kitchen area as needed, and will assist the cooks with food preparation to offer high-quality food products and service. They are also responsible to model a genuine lifestyle of Christian discipleship, providing campers with an experience that aligns with the mission, vision, and values of Camp McCullough.

    Applicants must have a current WA State Food Handler's Card.

  • A typical summer commitment is can range depending on the position you’re applying for!

    If you’re applying for full summer staff, it usually last about 10 weeks depending on the summer slate.

  • Apply anyway! We have so many different opportunities for staff to work out at Camp McCullough during the summer months.

  • Summer Staff positions are intentionally suited to individuals who are looking for short-term summer opportunities for service. Ideally, for our counseling and support staff roles, we are looking applicants who are at least one year out of high school, who have had prior ministry experience, and whose life exemplifies the teachings of Christ.

    Living in the community is a key part of the Summer Staff experience! Staff members are provided with shared housing. Many counselor positions require staff members to reside in cabins with campers.

    Staff is expected to work hard and take advantage of opportunities for personal and spiritual growth. Additionally, the staff is expected to work well with people from a variety of cultural and evangelical backgrounds.

  • It is our desire Camp McCullough be a place where young men and young women can escape the distractions of everyday life during their stay here at camp; a place where they can focus their eyes and hearts on their relationship with Jesus. Styles of clothing can be obstacles for many young people and give unintended messages; distracting from what our core mission here at Camp McCullough is.

    The intent is to not bring attention to how one looks but to highlight our walk of faith, love, and pursuit of holiness. Therefore, campers and staff are required to adhere to the dress code. Please note anyone in violation of the policy below will be asked to change clothes or make the appropriate changes to render their clothing modest.

  • Living in community with fellow summer staffers is one of the best parts of the Summer Staff experience. All support staff are housed in shared housing with same genders. Counseling positions require staff members to reside in cabins with campers when they are counseling.
